BIO

I grew up in the mountains of the West of the United States, backpacking with my brother and father in the Wind Rivers in Wyoming. While my dad refuses to backpack anywhere else, my brother and I went on to work for the US Forest Service and explored the West through a widening circle of firefighting. My education in healthcare took me to Nepal, where I continue to guide folks in those amazing mountains and among amazing people.

I am grateful that organizations have found my work useful: National Geographic Adventure and Online Edition, The Travel Channel, MSN, The Guardian newspaper, Men's Journal, AARP, Lonely Planet, Utah Department of Tourism, AAA Magazine, Discover Magazine, as well as editorial and advertising campaigns around the world. Some work is licensed through the Aurora Photos collection at Cavan Images.

In addition, Zachary Proctor has been a trusted friend and mentor in my interest in oil painting, which I will be working to improve my entire life.
